Today...
... I went to London. It wasn't the shortest meeting I've dragged myself down for, but I do slightly resent over 2 hours travel each way for an 80 minute meeting.
In other news, here are a few teasers from the Combichrist/KatScan/XP8/Trauma Pet gig. Some from Neuroticfish when I get some words from
keris.
Oh, and one of my SLRs is broken. I suspect it needs a new shutter. This is likely to be annoyingly expensive at this time of year.
It's not been a good week so far.

Was all skill, patience and holding down the shutter button then picking the best ;-)

Tricky lighting but some good results there!
Shame about the lights in the shots of

I'd like to get them to play Birmingham at some point.

Would it be bad to say how some of these acts are a bit dull to shoot though?
I suppose at least there wasn't the "curse of Infest" - bald men, backlit, behind sequencers.

Interesting point though - can I ask you as a photographer, what would you find interesting or prefer to shoot with regard to gigs?

To think of some previous stuff...
I liked Steve Vai because I felt he was working with the photographers. Everyone got their go.
I liked New Model Army and Einsturzende Neubauten because I'm such a giggling fan.
I liked some other gigs because I've gotten good shots (like Gary Numan and The Prodigy last year).
I liked some of the Noize acts at Infest because I did manage to get some interesting shots of people and boxes-with-wires (that being one of this years targets).
I don't (with a couple of exceptions) go to gigs I have no interest in though. The next "target" is to do a tour with a band and try a different creative slant on the process.
As I've mentioned on my LJ - the quality of the photos I think I've got does affect my mood. I've been put in some really bad moods at gigs when I don't think I've got good stuff - so I guess I prefer to shoot well lit bands that don't jump around too much!
