Everything that is bad about LRP #352

After being part of a conversation at the weekend I had a browse of the Heroquest site. Apparently some players have worked up 3000 hours of play since the club began. However, they still can't make LRP look good on video.

Work safe, but you wouldn't want to have to explain it to colleagues...

You know... you think people would have learnt by now not to make videos of LRP.

Ho hum...

I think the first lesson in making LRP videos is ... DON'T

Haven't seen the vid in question yet, but I thought the PD promo stuff was worth it.

That wasn't LRP though - that was scripted and directed scenes, created with a camera in mind.

I guess. "Film of LARPers" rather.

But even on the PD promo, you can tell the difference between the LRPers and the Luvvies - remember that several of the people being filmed have acting experience.

LRP itself is inherantly unfilmable.

They really could have done with a steadycam mount. (http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/steadycam/)

Dull fight, poor tactics.
