Rarely I impress myself - but some of these I really quite like.

Anthrax Last Night

I had a couple more cunning ideas about ways to get into gigs, and what to do with the best of these. Hard work ahead methinks.

Are all hobbies such hard work?

My god that man has a fat neck.

In other news; very impressive, very pro-fesshunul and very cool. So, when do you sack off the day job?

Selling ones easy. Getting a good price for it is harder. Local small galleries / pubs / bars with art space are the way forward. They don't usually want to see a CV, just samples of your work.

Sell em to people like Metal Hammer, Kerrang1 or other assorted music rags, either that or contact the bands directly to see if they want to purchase the pictures for use in future artwork / album covers?

is that enough 'r's'?

[livejournal.com profile] ed_fortune knows a young lady by the name of Emma Johnson who works in band reviewing for Radio 1 and also writes for such Rags on occasion. She may be amenable to poking people or at least getting your portfolio looked at.

Me? A Meeja-whore? Only a little bit, I'm trying to cut down. :)

I'll prod the young Ms Johnson (she's a reviews editor for Kerrang!) in the direction of your site. Kerrang! is Emap, so be prepared for some barter when it comes to getting paid (actually, that goes for most of the music rags.)

Haven't talked to Rory or Will for a while, they work for Touch and Time Out respectively, but I'll see what I can do.

A little favour, if you're going to be talking to a friend at Kerrang. Can you find out if Dave Everley still works there? Last I heard (about 3/4 years ago) he was reviews editor there. Dave and I were close mates at university, before he vanished off to the big smoke, and I've been trying to locate him over the past few weeks in order to renew acquaintance. I suspect that he has probably moved on, but any info would be a help...

Will do. If Em's not heard of him, Simon Young probably will have, he's been there since ever.

Like the contrast between the lone band figures and the two crowd pictures. The bottom picutre of the scary bald man in the black singing itnimately into the microphone framed between the two pics of arm-waving fans is an effective arrangement. I can't help saying things like that. Sorry.

Kerrang! wise, you need to talk to: Caroline Fish and Lucy Bryant.

I showed the main Kerraing! picture to Emma Jonhston, and she said that you should send some pics to: caroline.fish@emap.com .
(or better, a link to some pics.)

Hope that helps.
