There's a reason his first band was called Elf, ya know. He may be old, but he's still one of the best vocalists in rock.

His last album, Killing the Dragon, was a real return to form, I feel. Still doesn't beat Stargazer from his Rainbow days tho'. IMO.

Yeah - I'm going to "lots of stuff" to get experience. Of the bands I've seen I am a fan of say 50%, give or take 35% and then 15% are not-my-thing-at-all.

Third and fourth pictures are *excellent*. Though the first two made me laugh. :) But seriously. They're really awfully good, and I am impressed.

The first one would have been much better from the other side - but I left it in as it's the best I identified on the "first pass" of the \m/.

The second one I put in because it's a relatively simple shot of his-gnomic-personage.

The third one I'm a bit ambivalent about - I don't want to be famous for "up the nose" shots!

The fourth I really like. In a perfect world I'd have the end of his right arm in the shot, but apart from that I'm quietly pleased.

I see your point, but it makes him look slightly more like an impressive rock artist rather than an alarming woodland creature or enchanted gargoyle type thing. Which is creating an entirely false impression, I know, but it's still good.
