[GPP] Are 'Friends' Electric?

Last night was spent in the company of Gary Numan and his chums, and was without a doubt the worst photo-pit scrum I've seen. Normally there are one or two other people shooting, and the Academy is pretty good for allowing a decent amount of space to move around in, but last night was something else. I think there were 6 or 7 still photographers, 1 stagecrew in charge of moving the microphone stand on and off, then a ~really important~ cameraman using a broadcast quality DVCam unit which isn't exactly subtle.

Despite this I got a good couple of dozen shots (out of ~100) which I'll put up soon. To help with the anticipation a small selection below. Then off to PJ Harvey...

Love that first shot. I really need to get my act togrther and start doing some photography again now I'm more mobile. Atempting to handle a camera while using a crutch or stick was impossible! I'd really need to get a digital SLR to do the gig photography though as my Canon G2 cant get enough speed to get decent unblurred pictures most of the time. :-/

Thanks! It's marginally ruined by the elbow of the video cameraman sneaking in, and I might Photoshop him out later.

The G2 is a nice bit of kit, but as you say, you often need something else for sharp pics in gig-lighting.
