Pretty close.

• Import image into Photoshop - shot in RAW - max 10-15 seconds to get the settings right.


• Crop


• Save to Web as part of the watermark/thumbnail action with JPEG level starting at 70 then reduced as required to get the image sub 50kb.

I used to spend a lot more time on them - but that didn't scale with the volume.

I cull a load on first pass, then more when I can see the JPEGs.

The more I shoot, the more I come to realize that it's all about the workflow. Well, not all, but you know what I mean :-)

Digitally, I use C1 if I think the RAW needs some work, otherwise it's dcraw, NetPBM and a bit of shell script to generate a contact sheet, the pick a few and RAW to TIFF then into Photoshop.

I know _mrx_ likes to use C1 - but I've always been very happy with CameraRaw. I kinda like doing everything in the same software.

Apparently Adobe used bits of dcraw in their own converter. I don't hold out much hope for their universal RAW format idea - they seem to have rather missed the point of what RAW is.
