Bank Holiday?
May. 30th, 2005 04:36 pmI use online banking, so the idea of a Bank Holiday is slightly removed from my reality, but that's probably all for the best.
So, where was I...
As the-people-that-actually-read-this-journal will have noticed I've spent a little time doing a clearout of old photos, and have put up a number of pages of shots from older gigs where the delay has been frankly embarrassing. Of course, not actually working to any deadline other than my self-imposed one means "the boss is great and very understanding" which is something at least.
I'm not sure I've done a proper "wot I did" update for a while, but sweeping that under the carpet it's been a rather pleasant weekend - I have some good memories, some good photos and a tidier bedroom as results - and there's plenty of time to come.
Friday was the usual silly idea of going to "Edwards the Eigth" (as so described by Turbonegro). It was better than it could have been, and
scratchmeharder did a good job on getting people dancing, but apart from that I'm still quite "meh!" about the whole place. I took the baby-camera and had some fun with the lights - much to
quondam's annoyance. I'll probably post some soon (as if anyone will notice) but in the meantime here's one of her trying to ignore me:

Saturday involved going to Birmingham Pride to take some photos of Neil (WINOLJ)'s bodypainting efforts. I enjoyed wandering around, popping briefly into the Back-to-Backs (I don't so mind National Trust properies where hunting would have been impossible even if they wanted to allow it).

Then a brief noodle-stop before Doctor Who. Perfect timing got me to SNFNGS just in time to meet
ant_girl off the train from York. Wonderful to be able to spend some time with her again, even if she and
quondam spent most of Sunday being all active while I stayed in, mowed the lawn and cooked them dinner (domestic eh!).
Sunday was also The Session which seemed to be five random bands play the Academy. I saw four of the five (a 5pm start was just too early for me) and had a generally good time. Headlining were New Model Army who had a good crack at the crowd, but I did feel they were a bit disengaged with the event - it was quite unlike a tour gig, and I wonder if they were just doing it for the money...
It was however a chance to see
nearly_everyone, including some new faces. Walking back after midnight was followed by a late night Tesco cake run. Very yummy, even if I feel slightly guilty shopping there now (thanks to
steve_c).
Today I slept, delivered
ant_girl to the station and have been through some photos. Must crack on with the next OU soon sigh.
Anywhere, here's four photos from yesterday. Expect the rest by the end of the year...

Of late they've added "Community" into the middle of the logo to prevent confusion just such as I had.
