Something for the Garden Shed?

It's amazing what the US government is prepared to throw money at. After the success of Robot Wars there is a US Military competition to create vehicles that will drive themselves across the desert, and now NASA are after new ideas for space travel.

Anyone got a garden shed and fancy having a crack at a homemade manned space vehicle?

the robots across the desert was a spectacular failure last year :)

I remember reading a children's sci-fi book when I was very young about someone who made a spacecraft in their back garden and went to Mars. It might have been by Heinlein.

Damm - missed the chance for even as we speak our garden shed is being dismantled / demolished / destroyed and the remains put into an 8 tonne skip....
