Monday was Kodo. This was, as expected, excellent. [livejournal.com profile] littleonions has written with more eloquence (though less punctuation) on why drumming works for me at a raw level.

Anyway, the lovely Symphony Hall press people arranged me a box all of my own and permission to shoot the gig for the BBC. It was an extremely challenging gig - as the last thing I wanted was my shutter click bounced around by the perfect acoustics of the hall.

Some photos below - and more on the weekend's activities later...

You got a great vantage point - practically any one of those is good enough for their next ad campaign.

I guess it wouldn't be practical for normal gigs because you're shifting around too much but here a monopod might have helped. They're still not very stable but at least they take the weight off your arms.

As [livejournal.com profile] grh says, those are highly publishable photos of great moments, very dynamic and still clear enough. *envy*

You'll just have to get one of these

Was that the first time you had shot in the Symphony Hall?

Well, I need to work on my potential lenses to borrow :)

I think that had I taken my 2X extender I would have probably had a go with it at the Symphony Hall.

Ah, do you have one of those white lenses? Good advertising for Canon, not so useful for discreet photography. Which reminds me, I haven't done any long-lens shooting in a while, must look for someonething interesting to stalk :-)

They are very slick lenses. (I've the 70-200 f2.8)

Of course, some of us don't need to click for larger, because we've already seen them through Disturbing ....

Lovely shots, sir.

Some really lovely pics. I like those very much. How would they blow up hard copy; I'd put one of those on the wall (for a modest sum!)?

Didn't know you'd moved to Birmimgiham.

Well I'm lame at commenting on yours too. Just get so busy a lot of the time I skim through people's entries. I do read and look but sometimes it's fast. I did make an effort to go to your page and look at all of them today though.

I almost forgot you for Download actually. I know someone who'd like to review it, but she doesn't have a professional camera - so it might work if you did take photos. I haven't requested anything for anyone yet though. At the moment the bill doesn't really look that inspiring - but I guess it's early days - and that's a good thing, since I won't be there, anyway. lol.
