The drums, drums in the deep!
Feb. 15th, 2006 06:54 amMonday was Kodo. This was, as expected, excellent.
littleonions has written with more eloquence (though less punctuation) on why drumming works for me at a raw level.
Anyway, the lovely Symphony Hall press people arranged me a box all of my own and permission to shoot the gig for the BBC. It was an extremely challenging gig - as the last thing I wanted was my shutter click bounced around by the perfect acoustics of the hall.
Some photos below - and more on the weekend's activities later...

Click for larger, as usual, but no-one ever does.

Date: 2006-02-15 08:50 am (UTC)That was a bit of a pain, but I managed to work with it. Handholding a 70-200 2.8 with 1.4x extender on it steady is a reason to go to the gym!
I must email them actually, when the review article is live.

Date: 2006-02-15 09:05 am (UTC)Was that the first time you had shot in the Symphony Hall?

Date: 2006-02-15 09:06 am (UTC)And yes, it was. I'd like to again - it's a differnt kind of challenge as I'm sure you found out the other week.

Date: 2006-02-15 10:41 am (UTC)I think that had I taken my 2X extender I would have probably had a go with it at the Symphony Hall.

Date: 2006-02-15 10:24 pm (UTC)Do you still need someone to cover Download btw - or is that just my imagination?

Date: 2006-02-15 11:02 pm (UTC)I almost forgot you for Download actually. I know someone who'd like to review it, but she doesn't have a professional camera - so it might work if you did take photos. I haven't requested anything for anyone yet though. At the moment the bill doesn't really look that inspiring - but I guess it's early days - and that's a good thing, since I won't be there, anyway. lol.
