I'm shocked that over 100 of you actually looked at my Orkney pictures - I'm touched :-)

Other than that epic life has been a bit slow the last couple of days, partly due to the terrible heat and partly due to my rediscovered addiction to Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth. I completed the good missions some time ago but am now working through the evil ones. Excitement abounds.

I did also find some time to try and play badminton in the heat on Monday and borrow a cycle rack for the weekend yesterday. Tonight is about facing the squiddy menace and tomorrow I intend to play fast and loose.

I seem to have broken part of my ThinkPad, again. No doubt the IBM repair people will enjoy messing about with it again and hopefully not charge me for the pleasure (again). Still, I need it this weekend so it will have to wait a while.

The Orkney pictures were lovely! It's an ambition of mine to ride up to the scottish isles sometime. How did you find taking pictures of it as opposed to your more usual subject matter? My favourites where the ones of Sarah actually, really wonderful and somehow just said "she's on a scottish island". Dunno why :)

The main difference with the static subject matter is one of speed. On one hand I had more time because there wasn't a three-song-limit but on the other we didn't hang around anywhere. At the Ring of Brodgar I was still messing with my tripod at Stone#1 when the others had walked around the whole thing.

It was tough sometimes to catch the places without the people, which is odd in retrospect because my favourite of Skara Brae (other than the washed out Sarah ones) is the one with the different coloured waterproofs in the background.

It's also true to say that at gigs I know what I'm taking. In Orkney I didn't plan what the point was to my shots - which was both a good and bad thing I guess.

It was a bit of an epic entry though - I thought that might put some people off.

Nice to see you're still around btw - I suspect you're the man to talk to about getting some backstage/on-stage pics of Unter Null at Infest (even if I did rather rudely not see XP8 at WGT)?

Regarding Infest, I can surely ask... Erica is the one who's got all the contacts with the promoters there tho. As soon as I'll have infos I'll let you know!

I've already arranged a photo pass (as soon as I return the forms anyway!) but it'd be nice to have permission to shoot from more than just the front - which is normally up to the band.

If you can have a chat with Erica that'd be great - I'm expecting Unter Null to be one of the highlights.

Im afraid Im not an epic person, so I did the skim read and stare at beautiful pics thang. They were all gorgeous, but I also preffered the ones of Sarah, along with the stones / moss pics.
