Over, done with etc. Generally positive, and some superb moments (thanks especially to
sixtine,
bellagrim and
grendelchild). Muddiest LRP I've done for a few years, but fine company, quite a nice length of event (accepting that all events are a couple of hours too short), my first LRP trial (thankfully short) and probably far too long before pushing onwards into the shadowy realms of diseased imaginations. Many thanks to everyone there.
After both events I've thought "What a stupid character to try and play" after having been abandoned in different places by responsible adults, but nothing quite comes close to the fear of being far too aware of something very unpleasant walking towards you and realising you've backed yourself into a bush...
And today's lesson is "If you want to ruin a pair of contact lenses - squirt fake blood on them which just won't even contemplate coming off..."
Hmm, but the washing machine seems to be making very funny noises during its spin cycle.

Date: 2003-05-26 11:07 am (UTC)I ruined a pair of my lenses after D&D one night, when the green ink from the washable markers we use on the battlemat, that wouldn't come off my fingers when washed, instead came off with saline when taking lenses out and proceeded to dye them. Stupid thing to do, good job it was near the end of their month anyway. I have to wear gloves now when DMing... like some kind of PsiCop.

Date: 2003-05-26 11:56 am (UTC)I have to admit to a small amount of evil glee that I felt at having a chance to stitch you up: payback for other systems maybe?
The feeling of it leaking away with every question was horrific...
Trials I think need the same thinking as our meetings: as short as possible.

Spin!
Date: 2003-05-26 02:05 pm (UTC)You will also note when the abductee, now clean and whiter than white, in fact a blue white, will have odd socks on even though they swear they went in with a matching pair!
If you find yourself in this situation do what I do... Take a picture of the poor sod as he goes around, then while he is still disoriented from the spin cycle hand him the framed picture of his ordeal and say "Thanks for riding the spin cycle". Then charge him £20 for a T-shirt that says "I rode the Spin Cycle & Survived... But my socks didn’t!"
