I've just moved my (legal) copy of XP Home from one PC to another - which required a phone call to M$ in order to activate. This I dutifully did - but once I got through to a human being they said "Sorry, have you put you back on hold - my computer's crashed"...

Now - where did I put my Ghost CD?

Wut they needs is um system that senses the state of the staff people & their PC. That way you is left with droning platitudes while they reboot, which is better than being encouraged by the sound of MS Human types' voices only to have ye'hopes dashed as you finds yourself cast back to the vacuous platitudes.

I supposes that the MS answering type had to then ring his own support line to get his crash problem fixed... But he won't be able to help himself when the call comes through cos... There's a hole in his bucket... la la la...

Copy, copy?

Is this a copy of the real legal XP installation?
Is this a copy of the real XP installation that was obtained through a legal process?

By clarifying it with (legal) do you mean you also have other (illegal) copies?

And why do Americas say tomato and the English say tomato?

Ah now I see your problem... MS has the hump cos you installed another OS on it's PC... shame on you after all they have done for (or is that to?) you.

The MS OSs are connected together via the Gestalt API, they know when you've been naughty and they know when you've been nice...
