I could put this in a poll - but I frankly can't be bothered.

As a follow-up to my Fear post of the other week, and the lack of challenge in my life (other than the half-marathon) I'm asking you, the LJ-masses, to suggest to me things I might do which are exciting, different and challenging.

[livejournal.com profile] quondam has already done jumping out of a plane - but something along those lines perhaps.

Go on - use your imagination. If ideas are interesting enough I'll even try and do them...

Hmmm, something that will push you into new areas?

Start up your own religion
Reclaim some land in your community
Grow a banana tree
Enter a chess league
Don’t buy or eat food with the letter C in
Get a hair perm
Buy a tandem bike
Sell something of yours, that you really like, on eBay

Definitely jump out of a plane. Don't be put off by the fact that I've done it first! :)

Learn to ride a motorbike - or at least do a CBT.

Get a new piercing.

Do some voluntary work.

Fancy a game of squash sometime soon?

Top 5 adrenaline rushes I've had:

1. Stopping a herd of 250 steer stampeding and branding steer. It doesn't sound scary but the sense of 'OMG I'm going to die was very real!' Scary 10, adrenaline 9

2. Sky diving. Scary 8, adrenaline 10

3. Diving with sharks. Scary 5, adrenaline 10, fascination 100%

4. Heliskiing. Scary 5, adrenaline 9.

5. White water rafting. Scary 5, adrenaline 8

Obviously not many things you can do in the UK/Switzerland.

Potholing. Much fear.

Scuba diving in wrecks. Much fear.

Going to Australia and "doing a Steve Irwin". Off the scale.

exciting but not very challenging: get a tattoo

challenging and exciting: bungy jumping over land from a cable car (and they do lots of this in CH; you need to make sure your travel insurance covers you for dangerous sports).

odd but amusing: put your picture and details up on an online dating 'date or dump' site (you know, where people score you for whether they'd date you on a 1-10).

Gorge-scrambling. That's very strenuous and much fun (walking up a white water river waist deep) and if you choose the right place you can jump into the plunge pool at the top. Highest I've jumped from is 40 feet (no ropes, just spiky rocks to avoid below). That's an adrenaline rush.

White water rafting I found a bit boring, even when I got thrown from the boat.
