I'm now ready for bed.

I discovered a few interesting facts last night, like:

• How easily I can go "rant-on!" when talking about LRP


• How sweaty men are very difficult to grab, even when you're trying to do them a favour

• That Weston Super Mare is not on the way between Bristol and Birmingham

So, first NMA gig of the new season then. Was a lot of fun, thanks to ashenkat and when she explains to me what "ticket tax" is I'll gladly pay it. After my experiences at Linkin Park the other week I was quite keen on the idea of having a bit of a bounce around, and was looking to be a bit energetic, however I did break the cardinal rule of "Don't get in front of sweaty men with no shirts on". As a result I bounced too and fro, being minorly shown up by the antics of quondam (with pulled hip flexor) and ashenkat (seasoned pro). On the down side I forgot to bring a spare t-shirt so was cradling a sopping t-shirt the whole way home; and on the plus side I got drenched by Justin's water. I'll never wash again (except I did this morning). Lovely to see robcee and hepstar (the other user I need to mention is steve_c but that's for quondam not me). Many many thanks to boglin for driving (though the GnR was unnecessary) - and if anyone has any snow leopard tips please leave them on her journal.

A short diversion later on the way home *cough*, back in Birmingham about 1am. I had to nurse my PC a little which is still getting glitchy (bah - might need a new motherboard at this rate), then to bed, then bouncing up at 5:10am. Sleep? For the weak! Then to Oxford (another very pleasant dawn between Banbury and Oxford) on the train, jumped into a pool-Skoda (no expense spared here!) and off to Chipping Norton. Now, in the office, and considering sloping off to bed for a couple of hours after my 1pm to 2pm meeting.

Very happy with positive comments to photos, and am inspired to inflict more on you all soon.

Actually, very small amount of damage to my person - the only thing of note really was getting a "backwards headbutt" from one chap, but even that is pushing it.

In the mosh I count 2 "saves" from the floor, and 3 "assists". I'll get my bronze lifesaver badge soon.

You just move faster cos you can sneak through people's legs.

I'll let you off though, only cos you drove. Those CDs are bloody depressing though. Clearly you need some Steps or SClub7 in your life...

Nah - you might use that as an excuse, but I hate my webmail client so much that I try not to spend anytime here at all. I mainly came in today to collect my Return of the King Soundtrack CD.

It's ok. Actually I needed to get up at 5am to get to Chipping Norton for 9. I didn't need to come to my office after that (could have found someone elses) other than to get my post.

It's just thrown me slightly as Monday I normally stay in bed and shirk from home, and get up early on a Tuesday. My entire week is out of sync now.

That reminds me, is it possible to book RotK online yet? Must go and check again. Alex finishes school on the 16th and Pete work, so we are AOK for the 17th. Have to be a lunchtime performance though. If you're in the area, make sure you don't come, coz we will be taking child along... [hee hee hee!]

You can book online now with at least some of the chains. At least one is showing the film with a 15 minute interval. Stupid idea if you ask me...

Got our tickets. We always have a 15 minute interval - no, wait, that's the pointless adverts section and "coming soon" stuff... you mean they are actually going to stop the film partway through? There'll be a massacre.

I don't know - I've had to get up to go to the loo some of the way through both of the others, because my joints just give up after two hours in a cinema seat. I suppose an interval is just the same except that you don't miss bits doing it. (And everybody else is in the queue, erm...)

I'm normally ok - but I do shuffle position a lot. At the FotR extended the other night (3.5 hours of film+trailers) it was fine.

When I saw Seven Samurai at the Electric in Birmingham they had a break which was lovely - but mainly for the homemade tea and cake which was served. Not like the horrible mass produced stale popcorn.

Ticket Tax - the use of your shoulders for the purpose of sitting or standing on and waving arms around as described by hepstar. But by the time I had refound you after I got nice and lost in the mosh early on you looked a little bit tired for that ;p

Also - not seasoned pro just obsessive - that was only NMA gig number 4 (count is 7 if you include JS&F)

Remind me about ticket tax at Leeds. Very happy to do so. I was probably more damp and bedraggled than tired. I think I'd prefer sitting and perhaps work up to standing :-)
