Dear Orange,

Thank you for the lovely phone. It's very nice. I like the little camera and I've decided to take odd snapshots of my life with it for the benefit of my audience.

However, while I don't mind how long it took you to get the phone to me, or the extra delay in transferring the number even when I gave you all the information when I ordered the phone, or the unexplained invoice for just under a couple of hundred quid, or losing all service for a few hours yesterday, I do use my phone as an alarm clock when I'm away.

This means I often forget to turn it off (yes - I know the alarm works even if it is switched off) so PLEASE DON'T SEND ME MEANINGLESS SIM UPDATES AT 3:21am.

Yours faithfully

They must not like you... they never do that to me. ;-)

Seems like you've had a bad deal so far -- I feel bad for recommending them now, but I've always had perfect service from them.

Was that the tavern sauce story?

Heh. It's only really about that if you already know about it, if you catch my drift.

I don't know what you mean. "BJ" stands for "Bad John".

I too use my phone as an alarm. As I could sleep through WW3, I tend to leave it right near my head.

A long while ago, one of my friends sent me a text at about 4am to tell me she'd just seen a song on MTV. I sent one back saying it was 4am, I was to be up soon, and didn't need to know.

She sent me one back about 20 minutes later to say sorry, and she wouldn't do it again. Failing to understand that she just had.

I obviously sleep deeper than most - I also use my phone as an alarm, but last night I had six text messages between 12-6 and none of them woke me up... The alarm still does though. Hmm

Ah - the SIM update happens because it's a new phone. So if it's any help it's an "I've just bought this phone" thing.

I think I got just one and certainly no more than three. If you are getting so many perhaps it is worth contacting them?

See if you'd gone T-Mobile i coulda fixed it for you but Noooooooooo you had to go and sign up with those gaudy shaded upstarts ...

What did you get (I am a phone geek and will make little appreciative noises at you)

Oh and as to the SIM one will be vms set up, one will be roaming and one will more than likely be wap settings. Expect another few if you set up mms or any other remotely complicated service.

And every time you get one try to save it and if it wont let you delete it and reboot

There how to love your phone in 3 seconds
