Half a job?

I just tried to mow the lawn. Honest. I was there wearing my cricket whites pushing the lawnmower (with integrated roller of course!) up and down the lawn, and then it started raining.

This of course would not normally be a problem, except for the shared nature of the front lawn. This meant that had I stopped it would have seemed that I'd done "our half" of the lawn, and left the "neighbour's half" (against the agreement). Hence a couple of minutes manic racing up and down the lawn trying to get it done before it got too wet or I ran over the lead and electrocuted myself.

Slightly more amusingly, especially for those with a retro-SciFi memory - I just watched the start of the Series Finale of the Enterprise - and was greeted with wonderful V imagery of evil reptilians TM eating poor defenceless rodents TM. Homage perhaps?

Agh! It's not fair! I make sure we set off in plentry of time from Brighton to get back to watch it and then cooljules decides to ram her Smart car windscreen into a peasant on the M6 toll road.
Result? Arrival hours later, one totalled windscreen and one totalled peasant. At least we assume so from the feathers and blood it left behind...
Why isn't Sky One repeating it?
I thought that's what stupid Sky Mix was all about...

However, I will make one comment - all the credibility the series has built up it douses in petrol and sets fire to at the end.

Solution: Mow sideways. Then you'll have mown half your lawn and half the neighbor's lawn when it starts raining.

Sure, it'll look ridiculous, but they won't be able to complain you only mowed your half.

I normally seem to spend more time working out the most efficient way to mow the oddly shaped lawn than I do actually mowing it.

I call it application of my degree. Others are less flattering ;-)
