Last sentence specifically...

Billings refers to a US National Academy of Sciences report which defines four classes of robot: Searcher, which does reconnaissance; Donkey, which humps stuff (no, not like that); Wingman, which seems to be some kind of remote-controlled light tank; and Hunter-Killer, a platoon of ten unmanned vehicles which themselves contain up to five small observation vehicles apiece. Hunter-Killer's ability to strike deep into enemy territory, no matter how dangerous, should allow the US military to dispense entirely with Europeans, except maybe for sweeping up afterwards.

Apparently I already have a reputation for being a meddler with our IT Support Desk ;-) I asked them why I couldn't dial-up. They said that they didn't supprot the use of mobiles to do so (explains the crap handset without IR that they gave me), and they don't support using a firewire drive on the laptop (not too much of a hassle at the moment as [livejournal.com profile] ephraim has it). I've not bothered asking why the DVD player doesn't work. I'm sure they won't support that either.

Off soon to attempt to ransom the car, but will encourage people to do the "Anonymous Survey" I posted recently - then all of you explain why you wouldn't date me!
