Apple have just sent me an email suggesting I have an AppleStore Christmas Wish List. Just in case anyone really wanted to be my friend, I'd like:

• One of these, with a load of the upgrades.


• Two of these (the 30"), so they look lovely together on my desk.


• Then some speakers with a decent sub-woofer and a copy of Aperture.

If I flutter my eyelids will someone on my friends list find the necessary £10k?

In more exciting, real news - two freebie tickets for The Prodigy arrived in the post this morning. Another £50 saved! Now, where is smittumi...

Has anyone sat down and written a decent comparison article on C1 vs Aperture yet?

Not that I've noticed. The promo videos for Aperture are great - but you get the impression they are running on the best Macs money can buy and with some lovely displays.

It would be very interesting to see... C1 is slick and mature and has just introduced moiré reduction, but then again its noise reduction is pretty basic, it doesn't have "increase saturation of everything but skin tones" (a Nikon Capture feature) and where's my tethered Nikon support?!

I get the feeling that PhaseOne are resting on the laurels a bit.
