It's particularly depressing to try and take a flattering photograph (for passport-sized purposes) of oneself. No wonder I feel more comfortable behind the lens.

Why did no-one tell me I look like this...

Hardly taunting. I'm genuinely traumatised here! It's hard enough to write about it, let alone open myself to further public ridicule.

I'll perhaps sneak some of them onto Flickr later. I've just taken a few more after remembering some lessons from (the first edition of) "How to make ugly people feel good" and am slightly happier about what I see.
