Lots of entries to read thats what.

I've kinda worked out whats at the source of my current problem - and that is fear. I seem now, when I didn't used to, to be getting scared of things. I'm finding this really worrying as I distinctly remember having a confident, if not blase attitude to everything.

Maybe I should set the cat on the keyboard and see if he can come up with any cathartic writing.

Either that or read a lot more Dune - I must not fear. Fear is the mindkiller. And fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will abate my fear. I will permit it to pass over me

I'm worried about me.

that happened to me too.
I think it's something to do with getting older - it hasn't gone away - but it comes and goes a bit and I am getting better with it.
I think it may just be being more honest with yourself as you get older - I have always been scared underneath - just never admitted it before.

One view is…
Stability and predictability generally come with age. These serve to give you a comfort zone, which you like to exist in. Potential change threatens the comfort zone so you get anxious about it and end up avoiding change. This is a vicious circle.

Welcome to responsibility mate, it is just another word for worry. We are now at the age where we have to take proper responsibility for our own lives and destiny. We have to secure our futures we can no longer rely on our parents, we now see 60 and it doesn't feel that far away. Make positive decisions, do not end up being somewhere because you didn't make a choice.

On the positive.
Unlike many people you have a good stable base, you are not going to go hungry, you have friends anf family you can count on. There are many things to worry about in life but as long as you keep your friends and family close, thenin our country you will always be assured of food shelter and good company.

You are incredibly lucky, you are lucky to live in the UK where despite everything we have incredible freedom and a supportive state. You are lucky to have a reasonably well paying job that does not interfere in the way you wish to live your live and plans to provide for your future. You are lucky that you are still young and have plenty of time to change the direction of your life.

So although it is natural to worry, don't let it get you down matey :-)

I agree with Baggy. It is our age. Stupid little things point it out to me and reinforce the more serious side. You think too much about the future, death, your life path, the people around you. I wish I could go back to being blissfully carefree on that score. *sigh* This getting older lark is no fun. I'm even vaguely scared of rollercoasters now...
